The Chinook School Division's math support processes will be subject to a provincial audit.

That'll be to determine whether the school division has effective processes to support Grade 2 students reach grade level in math to meet what is known as the Education Sector Strategic Plan goal of 80 per cent by 2020.

The audit will be based off the 12-month period ending November 30.

At Monday's board meeting in Swift Current, not a lot was known about what the audit will specifically entail. But there will be an initial meeting today between the province and Chinook Math Coordinator Ed Varjassy, Chinook Superintendent of Learning Bob Vavra, and Chinook Director of Education Kyle McIntyre.

At the meeting, McIntyre said he hopes to get some validation on how they do things, but added that may get some insight into how they can further direct their efforts.
