Over the weekend the Southwest Youth Emergency Shelter [SwYES] held it's third annual concert at the sky, at the Living Sky Casino.

The concert was used to raise money for Dorie's House and had Swift Current's own Vanessa Gauvin, and Maple Creek's League of Wolves perform.

Dillon Currie, the lead singer for the League of Wolves, said they were more than happy to perform here to raise money for a good cause.

"It's always nice to play for a community event, especially when it's a fundraiser like this," he said. "If performing here tonight, means that we can have some part in opening the doors up again for Dorie's house."

Currie said that it's more important now than ever for the doors of Dorie's House to open with the weather getting colder.

"It's so important especially considering that it's winter now and it's cold outside," he said. "It needs to get opened back up; it's needed more now than ever. We are really happy to be able to help to get the doors open. It's pretty valuable to the community, and it's a worthy cause.

Currie added that they are happy to be able to help out any chance they can.

"I think for us it's nice to be a part of a meaningful event like this," Currie said. "Anytime it's for a good cause, and there's a chance we can help, we are always pretty happy to be able to do that."

Glenn Alexander, a member of the fundraising community for the SwYES said that they came just shy of $3,000, not including expenses or the money raised through the progressive 50/50.

Alexander added that they would like to thank the Living Sky Casino for the donation of their facilities, and the performers for providing a great night of music.
