Saturday morning Maple Creek RCMP attended the scene of a deceased male on the southern edge of Highway 1's eastbound lanes seven kilometres east of the Alberta border.

Police think the man died by being hit by a passing vehicle.

He was found around 7:30 a.m. and police haven't been able to identify him.

The man appears to be caucasian in his 60s, about 5-foot-7, 140 pounds. He has grey hair, a large moustache and beard and was wearing numerous layers of warm clothes and had a back pack and sleeping bag.

Police are looking for information from motorists who noticed vehicles with damage travelling east on the TransCanada between Friday night and Saturday morning near the collision.
