This Saturday southwest Saskatchewan residents will have a chance to support their environment.

The second annual Prpick BO$$ Mother Earth Run & Walk will take place at the Elmwood Park in Swift Current, with partial proceeds going towards Southwest Homes.

"People can come dressed how they want, preferably wearing green colours," Stephanie Prpick-Boss, Race Director for Prpick Boss Multi-Sport said. "We're also really promoting to people, to be conscious of the environment, to use products that are biodegradable and natural."

Prpick Boss Multi-Sport is partnering this year with Southwest Homes. The non-profit organization (Southwest Homes) assists the City of Swift Current stay green by running a recycling program.

"Southwest Homes has a phenomenal community (recycling) program," Prpick-Boss said. "They are a great part of our community, they're very active and their (recycling) philosophy, we love."

The event has four difference distances for competitors; 1km, 2km, 5km, and 10km runs. Upon completion of the race, participants will receive a pedal instead of a medal.

"We just want people to celebrate Earth Day every day," Prpick-Boss added.

The run is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.
