At the recent SUMA Convention in Saskatoon, the Town of Eastend received the win in the Regional Cooperation category of the Saskatchewan Municipal Awards Program.

The Town, along with the RM of White Valley, developed a new community brand to attract visitors and generate revenue streams to support their local businesses.

Working on the premise of a different approach to tourism, they worked on making an emotional connection between the the community and potential visitors.

Tourism and Economic Development Officer for the Town of Eastend, Rosa Vazquez-Ring talked about how the new brand has benefited the community. "We have been recognized. The Campaign has actually won a few awards. And, most important is, it has given us more name recognition."

The RM of White Valley received their award in November at the SARM Midterm Convention.
