A familiar face in the community has recently been appointed the new CEO of Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan.

Denis Perrault recently accepted the position and says he is excited to be a part of this new enterprise as he explains.

"It is now a provincial enterprise. And that is part of the reason that I was really interested in the role. It had just gone through a merger. The three companies in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and Regina in February had gone through a full merger."

Perrault says he has spent the past few months with family and friends while trying to figure out what the next steps would be for him. When he saw the position pop up he did a lot of thinking before applying and had a chance to speak with board members and some of the partners and the position seemed like a good fit so he was excited to apply for it and to be selected.

According to Perrault, the role will involve leading a team of staff, while partnering with partner families and working together with partner agencies across the province that work together to help build homes.

Perrault himself has been involved with various building projects, and in various leadership roles as well as being involved with a number of change organizations that have gone through growth periods. He says this is an excellent time for Habitat For Humanity Saskatchewan, as they themselves are in a growth period and have a lot of exciting things happening.

Although he has never worked with Habitat For Humanity before, Perrault says he sees this as a positive as he will bring a fresh perspective to the newly created enterprise.

In terms of what he hopes for in the future of this role, Perrault provides details on his overall goals.

"I think this role is a matter of bringing these three entities together and making it into one provincial enterprise. I think that would be the first goal. The next would be to build more homes throughout the province and to foster and build on new partnerships."
