Power lines in parts of Saskatchewan are experiencing the effects of the recent stretch of winter weather.

SaskPower said with frost accumulating on their electrical equipment, they've had "numerous downed lines" in south and central parts of Saskatchewan since Friday evening.

The Crown corporation stresses people should stay away from downed power lines - by at least 10 metres - even if it doesn't appear that they're conducting electricity.

People who come across a downed line should call 911 if somebody is in danger, or contact SaskPower if not.
