Saskatchewan Party leadership-candidate Alanna Koch announced some of what she'd like to do if she replaces Brad Wall as premier, and it revolves around running what she calls an "open and accountable government."

Koch said she wants to focus on a number of things in government - including reducing red tape, balancing budgets, having regional caucus and cabinet meetings, and "ensuring the integrity of government by implementing the highest standards for ethics and best practice conflict of interest rules."

Prior to the leadership campaign, Koch most recently was deputy minister to the premier.

"I bring new energy and a new approach to government," said Koch. "I have extensive knowledge about the inner-workings of government and know what it takes to run a successful business."

The first leadership debate takes place October 19 in Swift Current.
