The Swift Current Rotary Club, along with support from Swift Current City Transit, Sask Abilities, The Bentley, and First United Church, held their Second Annual Rotary Lights Senior Tour over two nights.

The event gave the seniors in the city the opportunity to see the Christmas lights and enjoy an evening of fellowship.

There were two buses each night, December 11 and 12, that picked up the seniors and toured them around the city for about 1.5 hours. Then, they finished up the Tour with a stop at First United Church for refreshments and entertainment before being taken back and dropped off.

Attendance was close to double from last year. Don Koch, one of the event organizers from the Swift Current Rotary Club, explains why the evening was so successful. He says, "There's some seniors that just don't get a chance to get out and see some of the lights because of not having transportation readily available, or loved ones handy near by that can take them around town. The other real interesting thing is, too, even for those that do have transportation of their own, this is still a nice social event."

There were a total of 74 seniors out this year to enjoy the evening, compared to just over 39 last year.
