The Wilkinson Memorial Observatory in Eastend.

 

The Wilkinson Memorial Observatory in Eastend was built by Jack Wilkinson Senior in 1953.

Located four kilometers west of Eastend on Highway 13,the Observatory will be celebrating International Astronomy Day this Saturday April 29th.

The Astronomy Club will be holding an Open House that day starting at four p.m.. There will be solar viewing and tours available all day, as well as an introduction of Club members and a constellation tour.

Joan Hodgins is the Chairperson of the Astronomy Club. She says, "As a club, we're very excited about sharing and showing off our opportunity that we have here at Eastend."
