As the Council of Federation meeting continues in St. Andrews, N.B., so does the plan between Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe and Ontario Premier Doug Ford to fight a federally-imposed carbon tax.

A joint statement was released today by the two saying they "agreed today to join forces and use every single tool at our disposal to challenge the federal government’s authority to arbitrarily impose a carbon tax on the people of Ontario and Saskatchewan."

Saskatchewan hasn't had a carbon tax, and the governing Saskatchewan party has put forth a challenge to the courts.

Ford, whose Progressive Conservative Party recently took over from the Liberals in Ontario, plans to scrap the province's cap-and-trade system.
