A July 6 semi trailer rollover that delayed traffic for a few hours on Highway 1 in Swift Current caused no serious injuries, according to RCMP Corporal Jim Countryman.

Part of the highway was closed from approximately 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., though there was an alternate route for traffic to follow after the semi rolled over onto its side on the highway.

"Anytime we have to shut down Highway 1, it's always frustrating because the high volume of traffic," Countryman said. "But it looked a lot worse than it was. Because the semi trailer was right on the highway, we had to shut it down off and on for a few hours."

Countryman says the lead investigator is still "putting everything together," so they're not sure yet whether any charges will be laid.

Countryman added that the accident definitely looked worse than it was.
