Doc's Town Day for Kids makes the little town in the city a weekend hotspot for parents.

The event featured quite a few attractions for kids like a petting zoo, a mock school day in the schoolhouse, and even chores like milking a wooden cow and making butter with its milk.

As with almost all Doc's Town functions, it was free for parents and their children to attend and learn what life was like for prairie settlers.

Beryl Robinson, program and publicity coordinator for the Doc's Town committee, said that the kids enjoyed one activity in particular.

"Well I think it's the animals, I think kids are always charmed by live animals, and I'm looking forward to going over and watching some of the interaction later this afternoon."

At the petting zoo, there were such animals as goats, puppies, and rabbits for the children to play with.

Chris Keleher, a new resident of the city as well as the city's new community recreation coordinator, said he and his kids were impressed with the activities.

"This is our first time here, so there's definitely lots of interesting stuff, the kids like the schoolhouse, milking the cows here, making the butter is probably going to be one of their highlights of the days, and then going over to pet the animals."

It seemed as though everybody had something positive to say about the event, except Braeden, a younger attendant who noticed a suspicious looking milk carton hanging from underneath the cow.

Also featured at the function was a wide variety of games that were common for older generations to play like, jacks, potato sack races, and a bean bag throw.
