With the legalization of marijuana across Canada there are a number of Cannabis stores open and preparing to open.

One such location is at 32 Pacific Avenue in the town of Maple Creek.

Ian Laing is the landlord at the location and talked about what kind of timeline is in place for them to open. "It's really hard to say, when we're going through a first. We're guessing at timelines based on we have certain approvals needing to be done and you've got to get your building inspections signed off, and then the provincial inspection signed off."

He adds that they are busy doing tenant improvements, and once their store improvements are complete and the proper inspections are done, they will open.

Laing says, "It's an older building and we're trying to preserve some of the heritage components of the building."

He says that when they are ready to open, he does not anticipate any shortages, as he says the industry is catching up.
