A report of two suspicious males last week to the Swift Current City RCMP has led to a laundry-list of charges and a seizure of a firearm.

The call came into police on June 22 at 1:15 a.m. about the pair of men who were sitting in a parked vehicle in the industrial area of Swift Current.

Police were able to find the vehicle and the occupants on 19th Avenue Northeast in the city.

Upon further investigation, the RCMP arrested two Moose Jaw men and seized the vehicle they were in. Police later found out it had been stolen.

They also found a gun with a silencer, knives, break-and-enter instruments, stolen license plates, and drugs that are believed to be hydromorphone pills, morphine pills, and one gram of methamphetamine.

Thirty-two-year-old Joseph Robert Hack was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of hydromorphone, possession of morphine, possession of break-in tools, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and being the occupant of a vehicle in which he knew there was a prohibited device.

And 30-year-old Nathan Charles Mangaard is charged with possession of hydromorphone, possession of morphine, possession of break-in tools, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and being the occupant of a vehicle in which he knew there was a prohibited device.

Both accused appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court on Monday and Tuesday of this week and had their applications for bail denied. The pair is scheduled to appear back in court on July 18.
