Impaired driving is a concern in Saskatchewan. But the Students Against Drunk Driving are working to push things in another direction.

It's their red ribbon campaign this week across the province, and Grade 10 student Jenna Sloman is president of the SADD chapter in Swift Current.

"It's just something that I believe in a lot, and it's just something that I want to see change about our world," she said. "I want people to know that they have to stop, and they have to make sure that they don't drink and drive."

Today SADD is holding a mocktail competition at Swift Current Comprehensive High School students mix up non-alcoholic beverages, and have them judged by Mayor Denis Perrault and City Councillors Ron Toles and Chris Martens.

The 25-year tradition is meant to show it's possible to have fun without drinking and driving.

"A mocktail is like a fancy drink without the alcohol, and we've been doing this for like 25 years already, so that's a fun way to bring awareness," Sloman said. "You can have fun without drinking and driving."

SADD will also be holding a checkstop on December 7.
