A second appearance in Swift Current Provincial Court for a male youth charged with making a bomb - again - is scheduled for this morning.

The 17 year old was on probation when police arrived at his residence and arrested him on February 26 for making an improvised explosive device.

There's a publication ban on the boy's name due to his age.

Swift Current City RCMP say the defendant was also found with other weapons and a small amount of crystal meth.

His charges are possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, make/possess explosives, and possession of methamphetamine, as well as three counts of failing to comply with a sentence or disposition under Section 137 of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The youth was convicted of having a pipebomb back in November. There was no ignition function attached, but he was arrested for putting it in a parking lot by the Swift Current Branch Library in June.

He was sentenced after the June incident to 45 days in open custody and a year's probation.
