The Shaunavon Food Bank recently received $3,000 in funding from The United Way's Regina COVID-19 Senior's Response Fund.

This fund is funded by the Government of Canada's New Horizons for Seniors Program that provides grants and contributions for projects that help to improve the well-being of seniors and foster their social inclusion.

The Shaunavon Food Bank used this funding, along with some additional funds from local donors, to provide vouchers for food purchases by local seniors impacted by COVID-19 at local grocery stores in Shaunavon, Climax, Frontier, and Eastend.

A total of 53 seniors received vouchers through the program.

These food vouchers were over and above the normal distributions of food hampers that the Shaunavon Food Bank delivers in these communities every week.
