A well known Shaunavon resident has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation.

Former Shaunavon Mayor, Sharon Dickie, became a part of the Board of Directors at the Healthcare Foundation's 20th AGM held recently by video conference.

Dickie said it means a lot of her to be asked to join the Board. " I was honored and pleased to be able to give back a little bit. I'm living with, and surviving, Stage 4 breast cancer myself. That's another reason that I want to give back to the healthcare system that has allowed me to survive. Sitting on the Board of Directors will allow me to give back a small amount."

Dickie said she looks forward to helping sustain strong healthcare and to speaking on behalf of the rural population in the southwest.

Other new Board members include Pam Busby of Leader, and Amy Moen and Kirstin Rondeau, both of Swift Current.
