The Cypress Health Region gave back to their volunteers yesterday afternoon, as part of their National Volunteer Week campaign.

The CHR hosted their annual volunteer appreciation tea at Walker Place to commend some of their approximate 1,500 volunteers.

"We just want to make sure that they know they're valued by the Cypress Health Region and that we recognize all the efforts," Briana Fifield, Volunteer Services Coordinator with the Cypress Health Region said. "We want to make sure that everybody knows that we realize the volunteer hours that they provide to us and that they feel we have regonized them for it."

This past year the health region received in excess of 16,000 volunteer hours in a variety of programs; Meals on Wheels, long-term care activity helpers, spiritual care, flu clinics, auxiliaries, transportation, wellness clinics, Kiwanis Clowns, and more.

"Thank you to everyone that donates all of their time and for all of the lives that they touch," Fifield added.

Centres which have had or will receive organized teas from the Cypress Health Region are Shaunavon, Gull Lake, Eastend, Herbert, Leader, Maple Creek, Ponteix, Cabri, Mankota, and Swift Current.
