A trio of sports cars treating a southwestern Saskatchewan highway near Maple Creek as a racetrack won't be on the road for a few more days.

Last Saturday Maple Creek RCMP officers noticed a Lamborghini, a Ferrari, and an Aston Martin heading south of the town on Highway 21 and after catching up with them, police realized they were travelling in excess of 180 km/hr, in a zone of 110 km/hr.

After pulling the triad of vehicles over, the RCMP issues a total of $3,600 in fines and all three cars were impounded.

While officers were speaking with the drivers they also learned that one of them had just taken his vehicle out of winter storage and had failed to properly register his vehicle.
