The precautionary drinking water advisory for the Village of Stewart Valley that was set in place last week has been lifted.

This means that it is safe to consume water from any tap or public drinking fountain with water from the public water supply.

While the Stewart Valley water advisory has been lifted, the Village of Waldeck is still under a precautionary drinking water advisory.

Village councillor Glenn Alexander said they are still waiting for three continuous water security agency clear readings before lifting the advisory.

Residents are still advised to boil water for at least one minute before use and avoid ingestion while the advisory is in place.
