It was a weekend full of stormy weather for residents in southern Saskatchewan.

The most recent example is strong winds that hit the Town of Eston on Sunday.

Environment Canada is still investigating to see whether those strong winds were a result of a tornado. The winds caused damage to several buildings and cutting off power to the community.

"We certainly have gotten reports of strong winds and a lot of local damage at Eston," said Terri Lang, a meteorologist for Environment Canada. "We haven't made a determination whether it's a tornado or not yet. That's going to take a little bit more investigating."

A pair of tornadoes were reported by Environment Canada to have touched down near Rockglen.

The first one, northwest of Rockglen, occurred at 4:03 p.m. and the second, south of the community, at 4:29 p.m. No damage from the tornadoes was reported.

There was also a waterspout near Moose Jaw at 1:06 p.m. A waterspout is a rotating column of water and spray formed by a whirlwind occurring over bodies of water.

Other significant weather in the southern part of the province was nickel sized hail reported in Wood Mountain, hen egg to tennis ball sized hail reported at Mistusinne, just south of Elbow, and severe thunderstorms causing a damper to those taking in the Country Thunder music festival.

The Town of Coronach also saw some significant weather with wind gusts reaching 96 km/h.
