After a year off from the event, the Saskatchewan Abilities Council presents its 2nd Annual PossAbilities Trade Show on Saturday at the Swift Current Mall.

The trade show featured 15 local vendors selling home-based products, homemade items, and unique gifts, with each vendor donating an item to the Saskatchewan Abilities Council to raffle off.

All of the money raised from the items raffled off will go towards the grand total raised for the 2017 Ability Bowl.

"In the end run all of the funds raised (at our events) do stay in Swift Current to support the programs and services that we do offer," Jessica Sauder, Community Relations Coordinator for the Saskatchewan Abilities Council - Swift Current said.

This year's event saw a large increase in participation from local vendors and from southwest shoppers.

"The response from the vendors has been amazing," she said. "Vendors were signing up quickly and we did end up having a waiting list in case any of the vendors weren't able to show up."

With a waiting list having to be created for the first time, the Saskatchewan Abilities Council will look to continually evolve this event over time.

"There is always a potential to grow this and expand this event," Sauder told Swift Current Online. "If we can make it into a bigger annual event that would be awesome."

The goal for the 30th Annual Ability Bowl is $75,000 and will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2017, in Swift Current.
