The 114th Annual SUMA Convention was held in Saskatoon this past week, and a number of representatives from Saskatchewan communities were in attendance.

Swift Current City Councillor, Ron Toles,was there and talked about the Swift Current municipal officials who received awards at the ceremonies. "At The President's Banquet and Awards Ceremony we were pleased that two of our Swift Current people were awarded with 20 year Meritorious Service Awards. One was Fire Captain Pete L'Heureux. He was there to receive his award. The other was former Director Dean Robson."

Other Swift Current City Councillors who attended the Convention were Bruce Deg and Chris Martens.

The Convention theme "Hometown Advantage" highlighted the unique elements that set hometowns apart, and the advantages of hometowns working together.
