Recently one of 50 Vital Community Conversations hosted by The Saskatchewan Arts Alliance in partnership with The Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils, was held at the Grand Coteau Center in Shaunavon.

These Conversations take a variety of formats and cover a wide range of topics.

Doctor Amber Fletcher is an Associate Professor of Sociology and a Research Team Member with the Community Conversation Program She explains Shaunavon's Conversation. "Given that the Shaunavon Vital Community Conversation was hosted by the Saskatchewan Arts Alliance, the major theme in ours was talking about arts communities. So, what are the current strengths of the Shaunavon and area arts community, what kinds of emerging needs are  there, the role and value the arts holds in the community."

Doctor Fletcher said that the event was well attended and included some lively conversation.

All input from the Vital Community Conversations will be professionally evaluated by the Research Team with a report of the findings to be released in October.
