In the December 3 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 78 new confirmed cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 78 new cases there are 5 in the North West zone, 12 in the North Central zone, 18 in the Saskatoon zone, 8 in the Central East zone, 16 in the Regina zone, 2 in the South Central zone, and 14 in the South East zone.

There are 3 new cases with pending residence information.

Two cases with pending residence information have been assigned as follows - 1 to the Far North East zone, and 1 to the North West zone.

Two Saskatchewan residents tested out of the province were added as follows - 1 to the Central West zone, and 1 to the Saskatoon zone.

One case was removed from the Saskatoon zone count.

Over one-quarter (29.5%) of new cases are in the 5 to 11 age category.

Just over one-third (33.8%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 5 years and older) were fully vaccinated.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 64 (5.3 new cases per 100,000 population).

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 81,225, of which 744 are considered active.

There are 17 active cases in the South West zone - 7 in South West subzone 1, and 10 in South West subzone 2.

There is 1 new death reported, bringing the provincial total number of deaths to 929.

There are 68 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total number to 79,552.

There are 136 people in the hospital - 102 receiving inpatient care, and 34 in intensive care.

Of those 136 patients, 90 (66.2%) were not fully vaccinated.

There are 4 Saskatchewan residents receiving out of the province hospital care.

To date, 1,284,263 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 2,239 COVID-19 tests processed in the province.

Of the 16,166 variants of concern cases identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 7,123 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 10 are Beta (B.1.351), 484 are Gamma (P.1), and 8,549 are Delta (B.1.617.2).

There were 3,979 COVID-19 vaccinations administered yesterday, with 135 of those in the South West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of vaccinations given to 1,753,619.

There are now 838,289 Saskatchewan residents who are fully vaccinated.
