In the September 19 COVID-19 update released this afternoon, The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting 19 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of the 19 new cases there are 12 in the Saskatoon zone, 3 in the Central West zone, and 4 in the Regina zone.

Of the 12 new cases reported today in the Saskatoon area, 6 have been identified in the workplace at Brandt Industries. The remaining cases are linked to known cases that are being tracked by public health officials.

That brings the provincial total of cases to 1,776, of which 113 are considered active.

Investigations completed thus far have found that 24 of the 113 active cases are from communal living settings.

In the South West zone there are 4 active cases of COVID-19.

There have been 15 more recoveries today, bringing that provincial total to 1,639.

There are 5 people in hospital, all receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon.

There have been 24 deaths related to COVID-19 in the province reported so far.

To date, 166,646 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there were 1,980 tests performed.
