The community of Shaunavon is looking ahead to the possibilities available in 2019.

With a few businesses closing their doors this last year, Shaunavon Mayor, Grant Greenslade, says there is work to be done in 2019 to bring new business to the community.

"Looking forward, we need to see the pipe built. We need to see the Keystone Energy Pipeline being built, and the other pipelines being built. With that, it will bring our economy back to a vibrant state."

Greenslade adds that, looking ahead to the upcoming year, the town is looking to do some paving projects, put some liners on existing sewer piping, and work with the Economic Development Committee to promote the community.

In 2018 The Town of Shaunavon built a new RV Campground by the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Center, did some work on the town's water system, as well as irrigation work at Avondale and the downtown park, and they offered Business and Land Incentives.

A new Economic Development Officer was hired who has begun re-branding the community with a new town logo.
