The RCMP are currently searching for a man that might have been in possession of the truck that was discovered in the Swift Current Creek just after 6 a.m. this morning.

Shortly after 6 a.m. Swift Current City Police responsed to a call from a passerby who saw the partially-submerged vehicle in the creek along 6th Avenue Northeast.

A release from the RCMP said it appears a red 2014 Dodge truck was southbound on 6th Avenue Northeast when it crashed through the guard rail and went into the creek. The passenger side of the truck is still under water.

Police couldn't find the driver of the vehicle when they arrived. But the registered owner confirmed they weren't driving the truck when it left the roadway.

The RCMP are looking for 26-year-old Colton Koop, who might have been in possession of the truck. They're trying to confirm his well being and determine how the truck wound up in the creek.

Police ask anyone with information on Koop's whereabouts or information on the collision to contact either the Swift Current Municipal RCMP or their own police service.
