Members of a rare entertainment act that recently put on a show in Swift Current say they were the victims of a theft on the weekend.

The Sawuti Children's Choir played a show in the Community Baptist Church in Swift Current on March 12, raising money for the nation of Uganda.

The group was travelling across Canada, making over 100 performances along the way, with funds raised all going back towards the schooling of Ugandan children.

In Vancouver, $8,000 in a briefcase, two laptops, and an iPad containing the group's schedule, music, and videos were all taken from a vehicle in which they were travelling.

The group is continuing their musical journey across the country, but they have lost the music tracks that the children perform to, which were on their stolen laptop.
