Due to an unconfirmed illness at The Meadows in Swift Current the facility has been placed under outbreak status.

Multiple patients and staff are experiencing symptoms of an unconfirmed illness that is being described as a small red rash that begins to vanish after a day.

According to a Saskatchewan Health Authority release the rash is highly contagious but appears to be non-invasive and mild in nature.

Samples of the illness have been sent to the Roy Romanow Provincial Laboratory to determine the illness type.

Visitation to the entire long-term care facility is being restricted at this time and is only being allowed in the event of an end-of-life situation.
