The precautionary drinking water advisory that was placed on the town of Cabri last week by the Water Security Agency has been extended.

The reasoning behind the advisory is due to low disinfection residuals caused by raw water quality changes.

Anyone that is using the town's water is asked by the town to boil the water for at least one minute before using, not to drink from any public drinking fountains, and use an alternative water source known to be safe if possible.

The town also suggests adults and older children may bathe or shower but infants and younger children are recommended for a sponge bath to avoid swallowing the water.

The advisory will remain in place until further notice.
