One of the five accused in the November 2016 death of Logan Ring pleaded guilty to manslaughter yesterday in the Court of Queen's Bench in Swift Current yesterday.

Rebecca Kuhlman was sentenced by Justice Lana Krogan to eight years in jail for her part in Ring's death.

There is a court-issued publication ban on all evidence until the conclusion of the matter with the four coaccused - Collin Perrault, Todd Donaldson, Jolene Epp, and Tanisha Perrault.

All five were initially charged with second-degree murder, the other four still are.

Ring's mother Cindy McEwen was in attendance, and Krogan thanked Ring's family for their courage in being involved in the process and the courage moving forward living their lives in honour of Ring's memory.

Kuhlman has to provide a DNA sample, and received a 10-year firearms prohibition.

Things resume October 1 when preliminary hearings begin for Collin and Tanisha Perrault.
