Southwest residents have an opportunity to help shape memorable experiences for more than 10,000 people this summer, by volunteering at this year's edition of Windscape Kite Festival.

After months of teetering on the brink of discontinuation, the annual festival officially has the wind at its back as it flies full speed toward its 18th installment. Now, the only thing left is to fill the field with kites, spectators, and volunteers.

Volunteer coordinator, Christine Ciona, recently shared exciting news for anyone who signs up for a volunteer shift before midnight tomorrow.

"Only four hours, that's all it takes," she said. "Anyone who registers to volunteer gets entered into our Early Bird Volunteer Prize. It's like $500 worth of yummy for only four hours of your time."

Shifts start on June 17th and run through the 23rd, and are for concession, kids' activities, kite field roles, general operations, and Long Days Night. However, priority for LDN positions is given to volunteers working at least one Windscape Kite Festival shift.

Anyone who has questions about volunteer opportunities can reach out to Ciona by emailing volunteer@windscapekitefestival.ca.
