In these difficult times many organizations are having to cancel or postpone all fundraisers due to COVID-19 restrictions. The ALS Society of Saskatchewan is expecting nearly $150,000 of losses this year as a result.

As a way of alleviating that loss and trying to provide for its patients, the ALS Society has created a virtual 50/50 lottery.

Executive Director of the ALS Society Dennis Simard.

"The ALS 50/50 lottery is a way for us to help raise money for all the services that we offer within the community. This year because of COVID-19 we found ourselves in a pretty restricted position in regards to our fundraising. We were anticipating a pretty heavy loss this year so we were able to set up this virtual 50/50 lottery to help us compensate."

Simard went on to explain how you can buy a ticket.

"So they can go directly to the website so that's als5050.ca. We have a running total that sits on that page and the only restriction for anyone who buys a ticket is they have to be a resident of Saskatchewan."

The draw will take place on October 21st, 2020 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are 1 for $10, 3 for $20 and 10 for $50. Go to 50/50.ca to purchase tickets.
