Candidates in the Canadian Wheat Boards District 3 Director elections discussing the issues.   A director election forum was held in Climax on Thursday.  Larry Hill says he supports the single desk with pricing options.  He feels that gives producers that have a different view of the market the chance to use their own decision on pricing while allowing the single desk to operate as a block within the system.   Conrad Johnson is also one of the candidates on the producer ballot.  He says his platform focuses on four key issues marketing choice, accountability, putting primary producers first and the right to load producer cars.  Johnson says we need to quit the endless debate about change and get on with moving the industry forward.   Stephen Vandervalk says he is committed to making a voluntary CWB work in the best interests of all farmers.  He says some prices are lower under the board than through the open market Winter Wheat prices are a $1 to $1.50 less,  40 cents lower on Spring Wheat while Barley is at least a $1 less.
