Southwest Crisis Services along with Salvation Army and SaskAbilities are the three local groups that recently received a donation through Goals for Charity.

The Swift Current Bronco's Goals for Charity have been sponsored by Paterson Grain and the Paterson Family Foundation for more than a decade.

Steven Nelson, general manager at Paterson Grain in Swift Current, is proud to be a part of sponsoring something that gives back to the community.

"We take pride in giving back when we can and where we can," said Nelson. "Without the help of corporate businesses, a lot of the small entities wouldn't be able to supply the programs that they do.

"We're delighted that the funds can go to selected well-deserving recipients."

This year, Matthew Ward was selected as the player to represent Paterson Grain, who pledged $100 per goal Ward scored with a limit of 30.

Although Ward scored 19 goals this season, Paterson Grain graciously decided to donate the full $3,000 which would be split equally between the organizations.

"We just look forward to doing it again next year," said Nelson.
