The 37th annual Saskatchewan Student Leadership Conference held in Maple Creek wrapped up Friday after a three-day long gathering.

The conference saw over 600 students from all over the province in attendance at this year's event. The students took part in day sessions that ranged from auctioneering school, Christmas card making, karate, leather working, safe driving, yoga and yearbook making.

The headliners of the event were; Stu Saunders the founder and owner of Youth Leadership Camps Canada, Canadian country singer Tenille, paraplegic Barrel Racer Amberley Snyder, and Hypnotist JR Mathews.

Snyder was the keynote speaker Friday morning at the conference and was appreciative of the chance to share her story with the students of Saskatchewan.

"To have the opportunity to share my story in front of a whole group like this is amazing. I mean, even for me to be in (front of) a group of kids that have their dreams, goals, and what they want to accomplish and have no limits on them, that helps me know that even what I'm doing serves a purpose and I get to help them out," Snyder said Friday after her speech.

Emily Galey, President of the SRC at Shaunavon High School, was one of the students from southwest Saskatchewan that was in attendance. She believes the past three days will be very beneficial for her moving forward.

"I took a leadership (session), and being the SRC President of my school, it gave me a lot good ideas for spirit activities and just the different things you can do for your school," she said. "They also give you a lot of good advice for your personal life too."

The 38th annual Saskatchewan Student Leadership Conference will be held in Tisdale next year.
