A tough end to a strong tournament for Swift Current's Ethan Murdoch and Team Saskatchewan at the U13 National Baseball Championship in London, Ontario over the weekend.

After wrapping up pool play with a 4-0 record, the Saskatchewan squad fell 8-5 in their semi-final contest to Mauricie before falling 8-5 in the bronze medal game to the hosts from London.

However, despite narrowly missing out on the podium, Ethan was still coming home with some hardware from the tournament.

Following the completion of the event, Ethan was awarded the "Top Catcher" for the National Championship

Ethan finished the tournament with three RBI's, three runs scored, three stolen bases, a pair of walks, as well as a home run.

The honour comes just a couple of weeks after the Swift Current native was named "Top Hitter" at Western's earlier this month.
