The potential starting date for the Swift Current Stock Car Association's 2020 season got pushed back into July this past week.

The SCSCA was originally slated to open the stock car racing season May 16, following that up with a three-day weekend event from June 12-14.

The association announced on its Facebook page that, due to the extension of the City of Swift Current's closure of recreation facilities to June 15, those two race weekends have been cancelled. Meetings for May and June have also been cancelled.

The SCSCA's next event on the 2020 schedule is July 17-18. The first night is set to be a regular race night, with the 'Kids Bike Race Night' on the 18th.

Stay tuned for the next set of updates from the Swift Current Stock Car Association.
