Maple Creek and the Cypress Hills region are set to receive a good dose of snow.

A weather alert has been issued for the area from Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Residents in town and the surrounding countryside can expect between 10 and 15 centimetres of snow. It's set to begin tonight and continue into Thursday.

The snowfall warning advises that wet snow may stick together in places, making travel conditions adverse in the region. Anyone looking to depart tonight or early tomorrow should check the Highway Hotline before committing to any plans.

Further warnings or cautions will be provided by Swift Current Online as the situation progresses.
