A two-car garage on the south side of Swift Current has been left heavily damaged after a fire last night.

The Swift Current Fire Department sent three trucks and eight members to tackle the fire on the 800 block of Central Avenue South.

"They found a detached garage fully involved," Jim Green, deputy fire chief with the Swift Current Fire Department, said. "The crews worked very diligently to gain control of that situation and the fire was quickly extinguished."

No injuries were sustained from the blaze and the cause remains under investigation.

"There was heavy structural damage," Green said.

The RCMP, EMS, City Light & Power, and SaskEnergy also attended the scene.
