The number of active cases dropped by double digits once more, as reported in the Sask Health Authority's latest update on the COVID-19 pandemic's effect in the province.

The Sask Health Authority announced the weekend decrease in active cases stretched into Sunday with 11 new recoveries and one new confirmed case.

Adding this decrease of 10 cases on to the drop of 24 in Saturday's update, the active case total is down from 176 to 142 since Friday's update.

It's also the second-straight update with one new confirmed case. Sunday's new case is in the far north region.

The overall total of reported cases is now at 592, while the recoveries are at 444.

Another three people are out of hospital, leaving five hospitalized around the province. Three of those cases are in the ICU in Saskatoon, with two receiving inpatient care split between Saskatoon and Regina.

There have now been 40,806 COVID-19 tests performed in the province.
