Car enthusiasts lined downtown Swift Current last weekend for the 10th annual Crusin Show and Shine.  

Registration began at 8 am with judging kicking off at 12:30. 

Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Swift Current, Tim Marcus, said that despite the inopportune weather conditions, the event posted a solid turnout. 

“Despite the weather, the turnout was pretty good,” he said.  “We had we had 52 entrances, which we thought was pretty good based on the weather conditions.” 

Individuals who entered had to chance to win in 16 categories and four awards.  

Categories for the event included; 

  • Ford, GM, Mopar '76 Pre and Post
  •  Special Interest 
  • Work In Progress
  • Best Motorcycle: Foreign, NA, Vintage 
  • Best Truck 
  • Best Foreign
  • People's Choice and
  • Best Muscle Car 

The four awards were given out to Farthest Away, Viewer's Choice, Participants and a Pre-Registration Draw. 

In lieu of a registration fee, participants were asked instead to bring donations for the Salvation Army.  

Marcus stated that although an exact number was not produced, a sizable donation was able to be made to the organization. 

“The Salvation Army was pretty pleased, they got some food items and they got some cash, so it was good,” he concluded.
