A former Swift Current Bronco that helped the team to its first Ed Chynoweth Cup in 25 years won't be continuing his pro career with the Colorado Avalanche.

Defenceman Josh Anderson was put on unconditional waivers this morning by the Avs.

He's spent the past two seasons bouncing between the American Hockey League's Colorado Eagles and the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies.

The Nanaimo, British Columbia product suited up in 78 games for the Grizzlies and 13 for the Eagles since the 2018-19 season began.

The 22-year-old was set to enter the final year of his entry-level contract that would have seen him make $765,000 if he played at the NHL level but closer to $150,000 in the minor leagues.
