Gun enthusiasts were out in force this past weekend in Swift Current.

It was the 51st Gun and Hobby Show at the Stockade, and organizer Henry Banman said it was a flashback to two decades ago for all the people that were in attendance.

"Saturday it wouldn't have mattered if we had a raging blizzard or whatever, cabin fever was at an all-time high and they were ready; they were going to the gun show," said Banman, who's run the event since it began in 1977.

Banman said Sunday was slower, as usual. About 1,600 people came through the doors Saturday, and 800 on Sunday.

The last show was in November, and wasn't quite so busy, as Banman said bad driving conditions were a deterrent.
