The Swift Current Broncos are celebrating a win off the ice this week.

The WHL team has been awarded the Employer of Persons Experiencing Disability Award by the Swift Current & District Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented alongside others at the Chamber's Business Excellence Awards (SCBEX).

Receiving the award were both Nathan MacDonald, Executive Vice President of Business Operations for the Broncos, and Nolan Paradis, Assistant Trainer for the Broncos, on behalf of the team.

"It means a lot to us," said MacDonald. "We're really lucky to have Nolan and the other staff experiencing disability, as part of our organization. It's their contributions that they make to our organization that are the true reward."

Paradis is himself an individual who is experiencing disability. His role with the team as an assistant trainer involves helping out at every practice, motivating players with speeches, and handing out morale-boosting fist bumps to get the team amped up for the games.

"He's there on the bench supporting Andrew and Darien and our coaching staff with whatever they need," said MacDonald. "He helps facilitate all the little things that need to happen for our practices to be successful."

Paradis has been with the Broncos organization for six years now and has been enjoying every second of it.

The Broncos are displaying the award in their merchandise store, alongside the other award the team received for their induction into the Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame.
