The Swift Current Broncos lost another key game in the push to the playoffs, dropping a 6-3 decision to the Brandon Wheat Kings last night.

The Broncos jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Levi Bews and Colby Cave, and after Brandon cut the lead to 2-1 on a goal by Mark Stone, Taylor Vause added to his team-leading goal total with his 29th of the year. The Wheaties then scored five unanswered goals from Stone, Michael Ferland, Brodie Melnychuk, Ryan Pulock, and Darian Dziurzynski.

Jon Groenhyede took the loss in net, making 30 saves as Brandon outshot the Broncos 36-31. Brandon Anderson made 28 saves for the Wheat Kings.

The two losses this weekend keeps the Broncos in 10th in the Eastern Conference, and they are now 10 points back of the Wheat Kings for 8th.
