Canadian Tire is recalling a heater that could melt due to a defect.

It's a Patton Utility Heater, and it has been determined that the product may have a defect.  The unit may overheat, causing the outer plastic housing to melt and produce smoke.

Canadian Tire says they have not been told about any injuries just yet.  They are asking customers to stop using the heaters, and return them to the nearest store for a refund.

These products were sold at Canadian Tire from September 2008 through June 2009.
